S. Korean War-like Elements' Move to Unleash New War Assailed by Minju Joson

Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) -- The south Korean puppet regime held an event to mark "Day of ROK Army" on Tuesday. Led by warplanes, missile-mounted vehicles, tanks and armored cars, more than 11 000 troops of the south Korean puppet army filed past before the present ruling conservative forces of south Korea and top officials of the U.S. military. The puppet regime said that the event reaffirmed the alliance with the U.S. and it was the largest function in a decade, blustering about the capability of coping with the asymmetric armed forces of the north and precision attacks on the core facilities in all parts of the north. Commenting on this, Minju Joson says on Friday as follows: Such an event as the celebration of the "Day of ROK Army" held by the puppet regime is a farce to provoke a new war on the Korean Peninsula in collaboration with foreign forces. It is illogical that the regime held such a function. What is more serious is that the south Korean chief executive called for building up strong deterrents to the north's nuclear weapons at the event. The remarks can never be pardoned as they are an undisguised challenge to the DPRK's efforts for dialogue and peace and the improvement of the relations with the south. The regime's taking issue with the DPRK over "nuclear weapons" is part of the moves which it has pursued with the U.S. to disarm the DPRK and easily realize the ambition of invasion. It also seeks such a crafty intention to divert elsewhere the public criticism of its criminal acts which spoiled the atmosphere of warming the inter-Korean ties, which was created with much effort thanks to the DPRK's initiatives and sincere efforts, through confrontation with the DPRK, and thus tide over its worst ruling crisis. We warn the south Korean puppet regime that if it continues escalating the confrontation with compatriots in league with the U.S. as it does now, everything will end up in ruin. |
