Present there were Chairman Ju Yong Il and Vice-Chairman Ko Tae Chun of the "Old Men" Association for Korean Cultural Tradition in Uzbekistan, heads of Korean art troupes and Koreans in Uzbekistan.

Ju Yong Il said in his speech the WPK founded by President Kim Il Sung has developed into a genuine party serving the people, invariably preserving its revolutionary character, and a revolutionary party steering the revolution and construction to victory under the seasoned guidance of leader Kim Jong Il.

It always shapes policies reflecting the will of the people and translates its ideas into reality in trial and adversity, he noted.

The shortcut to national reunification lies in implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration agreed upon by the north and the south, he said, calling upon all overseas Koreans to work harder to contribute to national reunification and the building of a thriving nation, keeping pace with the dynamic advance of the people in the homeland under the banner of the historic north-south joint declarations.
