The only way of turning the inter-Korean relations into compatriotic ones meeting the common interests of the nation and helpful to the country's reunification while promoting harmony of fellow countrymen is to respect and thoroughly implement the north-south declarations.

The June 15 joint declaration clarifies the fundamental stand and principles to be adhered to by the Korean nation in settling the issue of the country's reunification.

It has been already proved by history that the Korean nation can weather any difficulties if it subordinates everything to the great objective of national reunification from the stand of giving priority to the nation and attaching importance to it and promoting its unity irrespective of ideology and social system.

The publication of the historic October 4 declaration made clearer the orientation of the development of the inter-Korean relations based on the idea of "By our nation itself" and provided the Koreans with a bright prospect for achieving peace and the reunification of the country by their own efforts.

However, the efforts of the DPRK to implement the north-south declarations have faced a stumbling block due to the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad.

The "theory of principle" unilaterally touted by the south Korean puppet group is no more than the one of confrontation against reunification as it is intended to scrap the above-said declarations.

Such reckless acts as to do harm to the declarations are nothing but heinous anti-reunification ones of violating even elementary faith and ethics towards compatriots.

The vicious moves of the puppet group to make the great programmes for reunification common to the nation scapegoats for escalating the confrontation with compatriots clearly shows who opposes peace and reunification and pursues confrontation and war in this land.
