Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- Personages of Myanmar and France made public statements on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the 68th anniversary of the WPK. Aung Thein Lynn, member of the Central Executive Committee of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar, said on Oct. 1: The WPK has developed into an ever-victorious party under the outstanding leadership of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un. It was under the leadership of the WPK that the Korean people could become the most independent and creative people and the DPRK turn itself into a single-minded, invincible country with tremendous military capability. Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the party and state of the DPRK, has carried forward the idea and cause of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and wisely led the Korean people to build a thriving nation and achieve national reunification. I express belief that the WPK headed by Kim Jong Un would steer the Korean people to greater victory and glory. I also extend full support and solidarity to the WPK and the people of the DPRK in their just struggle for the building of a thriving nation and the accomplishment of the cause of national reunification. Maurice Cukierman, international secretary of the Central Committee of the French Revolutionary Communist League, said on September 25: The WPK has firmly defended the sovereignty and dignity of the country with Songun politics without any compromise despite all sorts of difficulties caused by the imperialists' political pressure and economic blockade. The Korean people are coping with the military threat of the U.S. and its followers with a resolute anti-imperialist independent stand under the guidance of the party. We will positively support the Korean people in their just cause for the country's peace and reunification in solidarity with the world progressive forces. |
