The editorial says the election of Kim Jong Il as general secretary of the WPK on Oct. 8, Juche 86 (1997) marked a historical event of great significance in the accomplishment of the cause of building a Juche-oriented party and a thriving nation.

His energetic leadership over the party building ushered in a new era of modeling the entire party and the whole society on Kimilsungism and strengthened the organizing ability and the might of unity of the party to the maximum, it notes.

Praising his undying exploits for party-building, the editorial calls for upholding him in high esteem as the eternal general secretary of the WPK and holding fast to his idea and exploits for the party-building.

The editorial says:

His idea and exploits for the party-building are not only the eternal treasure but the invincible banner for the WPK and the Korean revolution. They are the precious guidelines to which the WPK should hold fast constantly and implementing them is the sure guarantee for strengthening the WPK into the party of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

All the party building and activities should be carried out with great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as guidelines. Kim Jong Il's idea and exploits for party building should be firmly defended and all the problems arising in party building and activities should be settled the way he did.

The WPK should be developed into Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il's party under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un is the great leader of the WPK and he represents the victorious banner of the Korean revolution. The dignity of the WPK is precisely the absolute prestige of Kim Jong Un.

The invincibility of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il's party lies in developing the party into the guiding force loyal to Kim Jong Un's idea and leadership.

The editorial appeals to all people to work hard for the final victory of the great Paektusan power, united close around Kim Jong Un as befitting the descendants of Kim Il Sung and soldiers and disciples of Kim Jong Il.
