Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a commentary observes in this regard:

The meeting of the war maniacs at home and abroad clearly shows that the U.S.-south Korea collusion for igniting a nuclear war at any cost on the Korean Peninsula going against the trend of the times has reached the extreme phase.

The adoption of the dangerous scenario indicates that an accidental event on the peninsula may lead to a total nuclear war by the warmongers bereft of reason.

The north-south relations have been driven to a crisis and dark clouds of nuclear war are being brought to hang over the Korean Peninsula owing to the traitors who sell off the sovereignty to outside forces without any dignity to realize their criminal purpose for stifling the fellow countrymen.

Reconciliation, cooperation, peace and reunification are desires of the entire nation and demands of the times. However, the U.S. and south Korean puppet authorities openly go against them, getting evermore frantic with the moves to ignite a nuclear war as the days go by. The situation goes to prove that the U.S. and south Korea puppet group are aggressors and criminals who bring war disasters while disturbing dialogue and peace.

The DPRK needs peaceful circumstances for turning the country into an economic power and improving the people's living standard. But, there are limits to patience. It is quite natural for the DPRK to take strong countermeasures under the condition that the U.S. and south Korean warmongers dare run amuck to ignite a war against the north for imposing a nuclear disaster upon the Korean nation.
