Kim Il Sung, WPK Founder
Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- From his early days of revolutionary activities, President Kim Il Sung had paid big efforts to founding a party which could lead the Korean revolution to victory.

He adhered to the principle of independence which suggested building up grassroots organizations before founding the party.

In line with the Juche-based policy of party founding, he formed the first party organization called the Society for Rallying Comrades in Kalun in July Juche 19 (1930), which involved revolutionaries of new generation.

With the first party organization as a parent body, he trained a number of hardcore members to play a role of organizational backbone in founding the party.

He also paid deep attention to maintaining the purity of the revolutionary ranks and their ideological unity.

As part of the efforts, he rallied people of various strata around the banner of the anti-Japanese struggle, thus firmly laying mass foundation.

On the basis of organizational and ideological foundation he had provided during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, he founded the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) on October 10, 1945, a few months after the country's liberation from the Japanese colonial rule.

Hence then, the Korean people could victoriously carry on the revolution and construction under the leadership of the party.
