Distance Surgery Aid Network Built in DPRK

Pyongyang, October 11 (KCNA) -- A distance surgery aid network has been built among different levels of hospitals in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Among those hospitals are the Pyongyang Medical College Hospital of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Man Yu Hospital, Pyongyang Maternity Hospital and Tumour Institute of Academy of Medical Science. Son Chang Ho, a section chief of the Public Health Administration Institute, told KCNA that the Sunchon City People's Hospital joined the network ahead of others to prove successful from March. Training courses for the network were given at hospitals throughout the country. Ri Ji Song, deputy director of the Pyongyang Municipal People's Hospital No. 1, said that the network helps develop the telemedicine service in the country. The network makes it possible to give fuller play to the socialist healthcare system. |
