Events Held in Russia

Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- Round-table talks, film show, and an opening ceremony of the DPRK book and fine art exhibition were held in Khabarovsk Territory, Russia on Oct. 8 and 9 on the occasions of the 68th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Russia. On display at the venue of the exhibition were works of President Kim Il Sung, General Secretary Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un, books and magazines introducing Songun Korea and fine art pieces associated with talents of the Korean people. Present at the events were persons of all social strata and other people in the territory. The first vice-minister of Culture of the Khabarovsk territorial government congratulated the Korean people on registering many successes under the leadership of Kim Jong Un. He wished the DPRK greater progress in economic construction and the work to improve the standard of people's living. He hoped that the long-standing Russia-DPRK friendly ties would grow stronger in all fields including politics, economy and culture. The administrative governor of a city of Khabarovsk Territory referred to the undying contributions made by Kim Jong Il for the development of the bilateral friendly ties. The governor said that Russia and the DPRK are neighbors with long-standing friendly relations. The exhibition would offer an opportunity for citizens to know better about the history, cultural traditions and development of Korea and they will be admired at the high artistic level of the Korean people, he noted. He sincerely wished the Korean people fresh success in the work to bolster up its national power under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un. |
