To one's surprise, the tape-cutting for opening the water park was jointly made by representatives of school youth and children and workers, representatives of soldiers who took part in the construction of the park and a leading official of the Pyongyang City Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, not by senior party and state officials, including the secretaries of the WPK Central Committee, as done previously.

It lively represented the WPK's noble view on popular masses that priority should be given to their interests.

President Kim Il Sung, founder of the socialist Korea, regarded it as his lifelong motto "to believe in the people as in Heaven" from his early revolutionary days.

On the basis of the Juche idea that man is the master of everything and decides everything, he built the DPRK to be a socialist power centered on popular masses.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il, who creditably carried forward the President's idea and the revolutionary cause of Juche, steadfastly defended the destinies of the country and people from all sorts of challenges and threats of the imperialists.

He turned the DPRK into a political and military power, laying a solid foundation for building a thriving socialist nation.

Today, the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un is thoroughly embodying the idea of "believing in the people as in Heaven" in his guidance over the country.

His guidance has led to completion of a number of edifices, which serve the interests of popular masses.
