Present at the event were officials of the relative units such as the Ministry of Urban Management, children and teachers of the primary schools and kindergartens in the city, representative of the United Nations Children's Fund and members of its mission here.

The speakers said that the World Hand-washing Day is of significance, adding it is very important for the health of the people, particularly the children, to wash their hands clean.

They said millions of children suffer from diarrhea and pneumonia every year, stressing the need to make it a rule to wash hands with soap at all kindergartens, schools and families.

They said everyone should pay due attention to hand-washing, which does not take much trouble, for the good health and the protection of life, noting everyone can do it on one's own at any time.

Lectures were delivered under the titles "Why is it important to wash hands with soap?" and "Worldwide Water Crisis".

There was a show of hand-washing by children and the participants saw the pictures showing the right method of hand-washing and the happy children of the DPRK living in the clean water environment.
