Rodong Sinmun says in its editorial the formation of the DIU by President Kim Il Sung on Oct. 17, Juche 15 (1926) was a historic declaration of the start of the Korean revolution of a new type and an epoch-making event which brought a radical turn in hewing out the destiny of the Korean people.

After the formation of the DIU the Korean revolution could traverse the road of independence with a clear-cut target and strategy of the struggle and the Korean people could carve out their destiny by their own efforts, being responsible for it as a driving force of history, the editorial says, and goes on:

More than eight decades of the Korean revolution are a proud history in which the Korean people have advanced winning victory after victory under the banner of independence, Songun and socialism held high by the DIU.

It is the long-term strategy of the Korean revolution to keep to the road of independence, Songun and socialism. All the service personnel and people of the DPRK are carrying forward the sacred soul and strong spirit of the DIU.

The DPRK displayed its might as an invincible political and military power and socialist bulwark and a solid foundation for the eternal prosperity of the nation was laid in the eras of Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

The service personnel and people of the DPRK are making a new history of Songun Korea under the wise leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Unshakable is the faith of the party, army and people of the DPRK to carry forward the history and tradition of the DIU, single-mindedly united around Kim Jong Un.

The editorial calls on all the party members, service personnel and people to share the idea and intention with Kim Jong Un to the last, bearing in mind the immutable truth that to remain true to his Songun leadership is the way of glorifying generation after generation the sacred history and tradition of the Korean revolution which started from the DIU.

The historical cause of the DIU is sure to triumph thanks to the service personnel and people who are intensely loyal to the idea and cause of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and firmly united in single faith and will.

Minju Joson in an editorial says that victory and glory are always in store for the army and people of the DPRK carrying forward the great tradition of the DIU under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Un.
