The statement said that the publication of the declaration under the energetic leadership of Kim Jong Il was a historic event of great significance in the movement for the reunification of Korea.

The south Korean puppet regime has persisted in its hostile acts against the DPRK and moves against reunification in utter denial of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, it said, and went on:

The DPRK took bold measures for dialogue and peace despite the heinous provocations and plots of the south Korean puppet forces.

They, however, are not only malignantly hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK and its social system but kicking up a fascist repressive campaign against the progressive pro- reunification patriotic forces in south Korea.

We voice unequivocal support and solidarity with the Korean people in their efforts to implement the October 4 declaration under the banner of "By our nation itself."

The cause of Korea's reunification is sure to triumph under the outstanding Songun revolutionary leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.
