The hospital, named by Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, is a modernly-equipped center for comprehensive medical service as well as for scientific research.

The six-storied hospital stands opposite to the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital. Its surround is covered by green lawn and decorated with sculptures of different themes and fountains suited to children's sentiment.

The interior of the hospital looks like a palace. All walls are drawn with more than 1 700 pictures from Korean children's films and collections of world's famous tales for children.

On the ground floor, there are different kinds of medical treatment rooms and a flower shop.

The hospital has indoor playgrounds and resting places, furnished with slide and other apparatuses and playthings. Soft benches of various colors are seen here and there.

There are also classrooms with signboards reading "For Secondary Schoolers", "For Primary Schoolers" and "For Preschoolers".

All treatment rooms, checkup rooms and sickrooms of the hospital are equipped with latest medical apparatuses.

Medical service is given on a fractionized basis and all-out physical checkup is available for hospitalized children.

In the hospital there is a helicopter landing field for patients from distance.

The hospital is, indeed, a product of the loving care for the children shown by the Workers' Party of Korea that spares nothing for the children, regarding them as king of the country.
