S. Korean Conservative Group's Moves to Stamp out Progressive Forces under Fire
|
|
Pyongyang, October 28 (KCNA) -- The coteries of the "Saenuri Party" of south Korea are working hard to dissolve the Unified Progressive Party by labeling it as a political party "following the north." They let loose sophism that the party is "negating the nature of the system and sympathizing with the north" and "it is a political party founded at the instruction of the north". The puppet Ministry of Justice of south Korea also set up the "committee for examining unconstitutional political parties and organizations" and is trying hard to formally bring to the "Constitutional Court" the issue of dissolving the Unified Progressive Party. Rodong Sinmun Monday observes in a commentary in this regard: This is hideous politically-motivated terrorism intended to outlaw the activities of the Unified Progressive Party, turn the whole of south Korea into fascist mayhem and a society dominated by ultra-right conservative forces. Disclosing the aims sought by the puppet forces in working with blood-shot eyes to stamp out the progressive forces including the Unified Progressive Party, the commentary notes: Truth about the "case of the Intelligence Service's interference in the presidential election" is now being brought to light and people's criticism is now growing stronger in south Korea. Confrontation and conflict between the ruling and opposition parties are inching close to explosion as the puppet authorities' base moves to conceal the truth about the case are being brought to light. It is against this backdrop that the puppet group is keen to dissolve the Unified Progressive Party. This is nothing but a political ploy to divert elsewhere the attention of public opinion focused on the group and suppress the resistance of the opposition forces in a bid to tide over the crisis and bring the political situation under control. The group is sadly mistaken if it thinks it can weather the ruling crisis by resorting to fascist intrigues and repressive campaign. This will, however, only bring into bolder relief its fascist and anti- reunification nature. What is awaiting the group is only curses and denunciation at home and abroad and a stern judgment of history. |
