S. Korean Political Camp in Confusion
|

Pyongyang, October 28 (KCNA) -- The south Korean political situation has been thrown into the mire of confusion over the case of the puppet Intelligence Service's (IS) interference in the election. Factual data revealing that agents of the IS employed red herrings to ensure the win of the candidate from the "Saenuri Party" during the "presidential election" last year are being disclosed one after another, adding fuel to the scramble between the ruling party and the opposition one. The opposition Democratic Party disclosed that personnel of the group for psychological warfare of the IS conducted red herring operations for more than 55 000 times to support the candidate from the ruling party and slander the candidate from the opposition party, adding such an expression as "control of election" is more appropriate than "interference in election" as regards the above-said election rigging. Lawmakers in the Legislation and Judiciary Committee of the "National Assembly" from the Democratic Party opened to public the data submitted to the Court by the special investigation group for probing the truth behind the IS's interference in the election. They said the data go to prove that the IS played a role as an election team for candidate Park Geun Hye during the "presidential election". Much upset by it, the "Saenuri Party" pretended ignorance, saying "it is not a fact", "it has no legal validity as it was illegally obtained" and the like. Yun Sok Yol who led the special investigation team testified to the fact that the Park Geun Hye group put pressure on him in a bid to cover up the crimes of the IS. As a result, the conflict between the ruling party and the opposition one festered. Present as a witness at the state inspection at the Legislation and Judiciary Committee of the "National Assembly", he said when he visited Jo Yong Gon, chief of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office, on October 15 to report to him the operations to arrest and search personnel of the IS who conducted red herring operations and the future plan for investigation, Jo got very angry and objected to it, querying is it necessary to tip scale in favor of the opposition party. Yun was excluded from the special investigation team under pressure of the authorities. Lawmakers from opposition parties including the Democratic Party are strongly reacting to it, saying lurking behind Yun's exclusion from the special investigation team is the intention of the Park Geun Hye's "government" to bring the prosecution under its control and save the IS by killing it. Asserting the "presidential election" was, in a nutshell, a fraudulent one, they urged Park to make an apology and the minister of Justice, the director of the IS and the chief of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office to step down. The "Saenuri Party" is trying hard to ward off the opposition parties' criticism and conceal the truth about the case at any cost, claiming the Democratic Party is seeking revenge for its failure in the election through a political offensive. The south Korean political camp is, however, finding itself in greater mayhem in the wake of the disclosure of the fact that the Ministry of Justice urged the special investigation team to downplay the investigation as regards the case of the IS's interference in the election. |
