DPRK Go Player Proves Successful in Int'l Tournament
Pyongyang, October 28 (KCNA) -- DPRK go player Jo Tae Won, 25, won the first place at the individuals in the 2013 "Business Trip Cup" International City Go Tournament held in Hangzhou, China some time ago.

Participating in the tournament were dozens of players from at least 10 countries and regions, including the DPRK, China, Russia, Canada, Japan and the U.S.

Among them were the twice world amateur champion and others who made good results in go tournaments.

Jo made five rivals give up matches till the sixth round and beat a south Korean player at the seventh round and another rivals at the eighth and ninth rounds with fine moves, correct judgment and daring offensives.

He was awarded the cup of the tournament and its certificate.

The head of the Chinese Go Association highly appreciated Jo for his fine go skill and mentality.

It was the first time that the DPRK player took the first place in the annual go tournament started in 2001.

Jo has recorded good results in international tournaments including the go event of the 1st World Intelligence Competition (2008).
