Cemetery of CPV Fallen Fighters, Symbol of DPRK-China Friendship
Pyongyang, October 28 (KCNA) -- In Hoechang County, South Phyongan Province, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, there is the Cemetery of Fallen Fighters of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV), a symbol of the fraternal friendship between the peoples of the DPRK and China.

The cemetery enshrines remains of CPV fighters who fought to a heroic death against the allied imperialist forces in the Korean War (June 1950-July 1953).

A bust of Mao Anying, son of Mao Zedong, stands in the cemetery.

The cemetery consists of a gate, granite tombstones, memorial monument and wall paintings which picture CPV fighters and Koreans assisting them.

It was renovated in 2012.

An increasing number of people are visiting the cemetery on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the entry of the CPV into the Korean front.

Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the DPRK, visited the cemetery in July last year and said that the CPV fighters who lost their lives in the Korean war will remain in the memory of the DPRK servicepersons and people for all ages.
