The slate production shop was newly built and stone processing equipment, an overhead crane, etc. were installed to mass-produce slate of various sizes.

The workers in the mine face-lifted the compound of the mine and the residential district by building dwellings, cultural hall, school, nursery, kindergarten and welfare and service facilities and planting trees of good species and creating lawn.

A ceremony took place on Tuesday to mark the completion of the project.

Present there were Kim In Sik, vice-premier, officials concerned and employees of the mine.

At the end of the ceremony the participants looked round the updated production processes.
