Ali Houdou, president of the Socialist Party of Benin, said this in the inaugural ceremony of the committee of the party for remembering Kim Jong Il held in Cotonou on October 22.

He said socialist Korea fully demonstrated its might to the world thanks to the rare wisdom, outstanding leadership and iron will possessed by Kim Jong Il, eternal general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The Korean people are now carving out their destiny with national pride and self-esteem, he noted, adding:

Kim Jong Il held high the banner of independence and socialism, illustrating the way ahead of the progressive humankind.
