S. Korean Regime's Suppression of Progressive Forces Condemned by Russian Political Parties

Pyongyang, November 2 (KCNA) -- Political parties in Russia accused the south Korean puppet group of moving to forcibly disband the Unified Progressive Party (UPP). The executive committee of the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia in its statement on Oct. 28 noted the south Korean authorities' move to forcibly dissolve the UPP has aroused great uneasiness and concerns, adding: The executive committee strongly protests the south Korean authorities moving to create a dangerous precedent in breach of international law. Such vicious attempt clearly proves the ulterior design of the present south Korean authorities to wipe out the progressive forces in the political arena and continue to escalate tension against the DPRK. We call on the UN and the international community to check the suppression of democratic forces in south Korea. The illegal acts of the south Korean puppet authorities under the control of the U.S. are bound to meet ruin as they can never quell the ardent desire of the Korean people for independent and peaceful reunification of the country. The All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks posted a commentary on its website on Oct. 27, which said: We fully support the stand of Korean friends toward the provocative acts of the south Korean authorities which are geared to laying a stumbling block in the road to peaceful reunification of the Korean people. We strongly denounce the suppression of the pro-reunification forces. No matter how desperately the anti-reunification elements may work, they can never block the historical process of achieving the reunification of the Korean nation. |
