Persons of Culture and Arts of Chongryon Meet

Tokyo, November 1 (KNS-KCNA) -- A meeting of persons of culture and arts of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) was held in Tokyo on October 28 to vow to carry out the tasks set forth in a congratulatory message supreme leader Kim Jong Un sent to the officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the DPRK. Present there were Han Tong Song, director of the Department for Publicity and Culture of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, Kim Sang Il, member of the Central Standing Committee, Kim Jong Su, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Korean Writers and Artists in Japan, Ri Ryong Su, head of the Kumgang-san Opera Troupe, Kim Hyok Sun, head of the Tokyo-Korea Song and Dance Ensemble, and other officials, members of the troupe and the ensemble, members of the union in Kanto area and members of the union at Korea University. The congratulatory message sent by Kim Jong Un was read out at the meeting. Han Tong Song in his speech underscored the need to grasp well the idea contained in the message and embody it in the literary and art activities of Chongryon. Speeches were made at the meeting. The speakers recalled that Kim Jong Un called the Koreans in Japan dear members of a huge family, adding that they keenly realized the Koreans in Japan are inseparably linked with the homeland by the common destiny. They vowed to fulfill their duties to live up to the loving care and trust shown by Kim Jong Un for bringing up the Korean artistes in Japan as artistes of the nation. |
