S. Korean Authorities' Suppression of Progressive Political Party Slammed by Regional Body
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The International Alliance of Societies for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy in East European and Central Asian Regions released a statement on Oct. 29 in protest against the south Korean regime's suppression of the progressive political party.

The statement said:

The reactionary group of south Korea let the "Ministry of Justice" organize a "special team for measures against unconstitutional political parties and organizations" and is now making a legal examination of the issue of dissolving the Unified Progressive Party (UPP). After deciding to request the puppet Constitutional Court to stage a trial of the party it is inviting lawyers for the trial.

Meanwhile, the "Saenuri Party" is making much fuss, putting the issue of the UPP's disbandment as a main agenda at the "National Assembly".

It is, indeed, preposterous, sheer sophism and an unpardonable provocation to the DPRK for the "Saenuri Party" to float misinformation that the UPP "attempted a rebellion" as a "political party following the north."

The conservative group in south Korea is also working hard to disband the Teachers Union after branding it as a "center of the forces following the north" and "enemy inside south Korea". It went the lengths of scheming to shut down the progressive internet paper Jaju Minbo.

Such repressive campaign of the group is aimed to destroy the backbone of the progressive forces in south Korea, weaken all the forces aspiring after reunification through alliance with the north and democratic reforms and thus lay a springboard for ensuring its long-term stay in power.

The prevailing situation clearly indicates that the south Korean puppet group is, indeed, a group of fascist gangsters and confrontation maniacs.

We strongly demand the group stop at once its moves to forcibly dissolve and ban the progressive political party, organization and paper.
