U.S. Structure of Hegemony Has Come to End: Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The U.S. structure of hegemony has come to an end, observes Rodong Sinmun Sunday in an article. This is mainly attributable to its wars of aggression, military pressure, interference in internal affairs of other countries and economic sanctions, the article says, and goes on: Stupefied by strength almighty after the end of the structure of confrontation between the Soviet Union and the U.S. early in the 1990s, the U.S. stepped up its moves for modernizing weaponry and increasing armed forces while squandering a fabulous amount of military expenditure. It has worked hard to form new military alliances while pushing forward the expansion of NATO to lay a military siege to its rivals. But many countries have channeled big efforts into bolstering up military capabilities, challenging the U.S. military hegemony. After the end of the Cold War, the U.S. waged a series of wars. A particular mention should be made of the fact that the Afghan and Iraqi wars, etc. it fought in the present century, are aimed to dominate the world. Such highhanded and arbitrary military actions of the U.S. only resulted in sparking off stronger anti-American sentiment in different parts of the world. The U.S. strength is now waning day by day. Saddled with a huge amount of debts, it is compelled to cut down its military spending. The U.S. is censured worldwide for spying on other countries. It has lost the capability to unilaterally manage the world market economy. It is making desperate efforts to keep alive its ended structure of hegemony at any cost but this structure will never be restored. |
