Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- Political parties of Bangladesh made public statements on October 28 in protest against the south Korean authorities' fascist moves to dissolve the Unified Progressive Party (UPP). The Bangladesh People's League said that the south Korean authorities' moves to forcibly disband the legitimate political party are stunning the world. The freedom of political party activities and right to political activities are guaranteed in every country of the world and left-wing political parties are conducting legitimate activities there, it noted. It termed the above-said moves of the south Korean authorities a grave challenge and an unpardonable fascist action against an overwhelming majority of south Koreans demanding social democracy and genuine freedom of political activities. The Central Committee of the Bangladesh Communist Party said: The south Korean authorities advocating "freedom" of expression and "liberal democracy" are becoming frantic in their moves to forcibly dissolve the UPP for the mere reason that it called for the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula. Any political party of south Korea has the right to express its political view. We view this grave situation created by the south Korean authorities as an expression of a wholesale crackdown upon the pro-reunification patriotic forces who took the lead in the struggle against conservatives and bitterly condemn it. |
