Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- A spring called Mangjangchon in the Manmulsang Valley of Mt. Kumgang tells about a legend well known among the local people. Once upon a time, there lived a couple called Soebawi and Okbun in the valley. They eked out their living with herbs they gathered in the valley. After the lapse of many years, they reached the age of 70 and became infirm. One day when the old man went into the valley, he found out a spring. As he felt so thirsty, he drank the water to his satisfaction and slept soundly. When he awoke, he felt himself refreshed and healthy. His wife was alarmed to see her husband, who looked so young. The next day, the old woman made her way to the spring to drink the water. Though it got dark, the woman did not return home. So the man left home for the spring to look for his wife. There he found out his wife who regained her girlish appearance. Both of them returned home together in an ecstasy of joy and lived a long life in the mountain. Now the spring is one of the famous tourist attractions in the mountain. |
