S. Korean Regime's Suppression of Progressive Forces under Fire by Russian, British Papers
|
|
Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- Russian and British papers carried articles lashing out at the south Korean puppet conservative forces for working hard to forcibly dissolve the Unified Progressive Party (UPP). The Russian paper Bremya Peremon Plus TV on October 30 accused the present conservative forces and gentries of the "Saenuri Party" of south Korea of their moves to forcibly disorganize the UPP. It said: Such moves show the height of mean and fascist politically-motivated farce of the present conservative ruling forces to indiscriminately suppress even the legitimate political parties and organizations in a bid to satisfy their greed for long-term office and attain their political purpose. The present situation is not that early in the 20th century when the world was swept by a violent storm of fascism against communism. However, in south Korea under the colonial fascist rule outdated evil laws ride roughshod, wantonly violating elementary freedom and rights of human beings and unhesitatingly perpetrating persecution and crackdown on political parties standing against the "government." South Korea, in a word, is a political doldrums under the reign of fascism where political freedom and rights of people are ruthlessly violated. Worse still, the puppet conservative forces are misleading public opinion, branding the UPP as the "forces keen to bring down the social system linked with the north" and its programme as the "disguised north's programme", in a bid to justify their sordid political plot. Political parties and organizations of various circles in south Korea can achieve democracy and bring earlier the day of national reunification only when they wage a positive struggle against the harsh fascist repressive campaign of the puppet conservative group to stamp out justice and progress. The fair public and political parties of the world that set store by democracy and justice should pay due attention to the grave situation in south Korea and become increasingly vocal expressing solidarity. The October-November issue of the British paper Proletarian in an article titled "The Unified Progressive Party subject to suppression in south Korea" said that if the just programme of a party becomes a reason for politically-motivated suppression, this brings into bolder relief the hypocritical nature of democracy in south Korean society and dictatorial nature of the present "government." |
