Movable Net Ring Introduced in Breeding Fish in DPRK
Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang City Fish Farming Management Bureau has introduced movable net ring in breeding freshwater fish.

It began raising fish in an intensive way around Yanggak Islet on the Taedong River and in the waterway of the Pothong River with use of movable net rings of 250 square meters and 2 250 square meters respectively.

Such breeding method costs lower than in fish farms.

The production capacity of a 250-square-meter net ring is approximately three tons, tantamount to four times that in one hectare of fish farm.

The net ring can be moved to safe places during rainy season while being submerged in winter.

The method is divided into floating and stationary ones.

Kim Kwon Hwi, an official of the bureau, told KCNA that the method of fish breeding will be introduced in rivers and reservoirs across the country.
