Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee, was elected chairman of the committee.

A statement was adopted at the ceremony.

The statement said that the followers of the Juche idea, Songun idea, friends of Koreans, together with the Korean people, are paying highest respect to leader Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of his demise.

The committee would conduct positive activities praising his revolutionary exploits, it noted.
