The concours brought together more than 250 harmonica players from at least 30 countries including the DPRK, Germany, Russia, Malaysia, Italy and France.

The concours, which is held every 4 years, is the highest-level harmonica contest in which the world's best harmonica players and troupes compete.

The DPRK artistes skillfully performed difficult numbers.

Rim Myong San won the second place in the halftone harmonica solo and Ri Kwang and Rim Myong San the third place in the halftone harmonica duet to receive prizes and diplomas.
