Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- Russian and British bodies strongly condemned the south Korean authorities for their move to dissolve the Unified Progressive Party. The Rostov Association for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism of Russia in a statement on Oct. 31 said that the south Korean authorities clearly showed their fascist nature by pressing for the dissolution of the party. It went on: The slightest sympathy with the DPRK is subject to suppression in south Korea. The reason for the suppression of the party is that it is opposed to the war moves of the authorities and supports the peace proposal of the DPRK. The progressive figures are describing the suppression as "McCarthyism" of the U.S., and the south Korean authorities threw off their mask of "democracy" by resorting to such a vicious action. Progressive people are demanding the authorities stop such an action at once. The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the British Branch of the Korean Friendship Association in a joint statement on Oct. 27 described south Korea as a theater of fascist rowdyism and a veritable hell where all activities of the leftwing political parties and the progressive forces desirous of the reunification of the country are banned and progressive idea is brutally suppressed. It is quite natural that the south Korean people long for the progressive idea and struggle for independence and reunification, the statement said, urging the authorities to halt such an action and set free all the progressive figures at once. |
