Japan Urged to Redress Crime Related to Sexual Slavery
Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- The sexual slavery committed by the Japanese imperialists in the past has to be settled without fail as it is a hideous crime against humanity unprecedented in history, says Rodong Sinmun Thursday in an article.

The article goes on:

The sexual slavery was an organized, state-sponsored crime. It was not made by those women's "own wishes" or their "will" as claimed by the Japanese reactionaries.

The Japanese reactionaries openly deny the coercive nature of the sexual slavery by the Imperial Japanese Army. It is the height of baseness and impertinence peculiar to Japan.

The present Japanese authorities claim there are not sufficient facts and evidence to prove the forcible nature of the sexual slavery and that it is an academic matter to be discussed by historians.

By denying the forcible nature of the sexual slavery the Japanese reactionaries seek the sinister intention to evade the responsibilities and reparation. It is an unavoidable historical responsibility and legal and moral obligation for Japan to frankly admit the sexual slavery and make an apology and reparation for it. But Japan persistently distorts the truth and resorts to every trick to evade the responsibility and reparation.

Now there are many clear traces of Japan's aggression and plunder everywhere and a lot of victims and their descendants remain as eyewitnesses of history. Not only the Koreans but also all other people of the world hardly repress resentment at the behavior of the Japanese authorities distorting the vicious crime of sexual slavery.

The Japanese reactionaries should clearly know that Japan will invite stronger denunciation from the international community if they persistently evade the redress of the hideous crime against humanity.
