Present there were Han Kwang Bok, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Choe Sang Gon, chairman of the State Science and Technology Commission, officials concerned and the participants whose birthdays fall in the period of the meeting.

Han Kwang Bok in an address said supreme leader Kim Jong Un provided the national meeting of scientists and technicians in the idea of developing the country's science and technology by leaps and bounds and pushing forward the building of a thriving nation by dint of science and technology, and made sure that birthday spreads were provided to those who celebrate their birthdays during the meeting.

Han called on all the participants to bear this privilege deep in their minds and leave significant footprints in the drive for building a knowledge-based economic power.
