S. Korean Authorities' "Theory of Adhering to Principle" Rebuffed

Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- The "theory of adhering to the principle" touted by the south Korean authorities is an anti-reunification theory as it totally denies the June 15 joint declaration and is intended to bring the inter-Korean relations back to the era of confrontation, observes Rodong Sinmun Thursday in its lengthy commentator's article. It says: The south Korean puppet group claims that the relations between the north and the south have been so far the ties in which the south was pulled by the north and "abnormal relationship" in which the south was subject to submission and humiliation, adding it is what it calls the principle to replace those relations by a "normal relationship." Needless to say, by "abnormal relations" the group means the inter-Korean relations that had favorably developed after the publication of the June 15 joint declaration. It is the contention of the south Korean authorities that the adoption of the historic June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration by the top leaders of the north and the south was abnormal and it was abnormal happenings that in the wake of rejoining the road and railway links and blood ties after more than half a century, many compatriots from the north and the south visited each other, sharing compatriotic feelings and demonstrating the will for reunification. They insist that the north and south's joint confirmation of the idea of "By our nation itself" meant the south's implication in the strategy of the north, the agreement to achieve independent reunification, peace and prosperity was to serve the purpose of the north, their agreement on setting up a special zone for peace and cooperation in the West Sea meant the south's yielding to the north and operations in the Kaesong Industrial Zone and tour of Mt. Kumgang meant a "drain on resources". The puppet group went on such rampage as opening to public of the minutes of north-south summit talks, not content with persecuting the former "presidents" who signed the historic inter-Korean declarations and driving one of them to death. If the eye-opening development of the inter-Korean relations, a product of the June 15 era, should have been considered as "abnormal" development though it brought so strong hope for reunification and joy to all fellow countrymen and was welcomed by the whole world, what is "normal" development claimed by the group? All issues concerning the inter-Korean relations have been put into confusion and they have virtually collapsed due to the group's heinous confrontation moves. There were skirmishes between the north and the south for the first time since the Korean War and the danger of a nuclear war has reached its height, extremely threatening peace and security on the Korean Peninsula. Does the puppet group mean its moves for making fellow countrymen stand in confrontation and fight each other as now "normal" inter-Korean relations? Why does it dislike the north and the south getting reconciled and living in harmony and why does it interpret this as "abnormal"? It was thanks to the June 15 joint declaration that the present south Korean chief executive could visit Pyongyang in 2002. Was it "abnormal" and did she suffer humiliation, pulled by the north? The south Korean regime's claim that the inter-Korean relations should make a switchover to "normal relations" from "abnormal" ones is, in the final analysis, nothing but anachronistic anti-reunification sophism intended to bring the June 15 era of reunification to that of confrontation. |
