Rodong Sinmun Discloses Reactionary Nature of S. Korean Regime's "Theory of Adhering to Principle"

Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Thursday carries a commentator's article revealing the contents and essence of "theory of adhering to principle", anti-reunification sophism which the south Korean authorities set as their north policy. The article says as follows: The theory is an anti-reunification one, in every aspect, as it totally denies the June 15 north-south declaration with an aim to turn the north-south relations back to the era of confrontation. The south Korean puppet regime, describing the north-south relations as "abnormal relations of humiliation" in which the south submits to the north, being pulled by it, is now calling for setting the "principle" to turn those relations back to "normal ones". There is no doubt that by the "abnormal relations" the regime meant the north-south relations that made favorable development after the publication of the June 15 joint declaration. The relations between the north and the south have now been brought to naught with everything broken down and cut off due to the puppet regime's hideous confrontational moves. It is the first time since the end of the Korean war that the north-south ties witnessed even the exchange of fire and the extreme tensions where a nuclear war is imminent, which seriously threaten the peace and security on the Korean Peninsula. The puppet regime's call for turning the north-south ties to "normal" from "abnormal" is anachronistic anti-reunification sophism to end the June 15 era of reunification and bring back the era of confrontation. The south Korean authorities' "theory of adhering to principle" is a criminal theory of stand-off between social systems which fundamentally denies the reunification-oriented nature of the north-south ties and promotes division and show-down. The north-south ties are not country to country relations but special relations of tentative nature between the people of one nation orientating toward reunification. It is out of this purport that the north and the south have jointly confirmed the nature of the bilateral ties and the principle, norms and orders based on it long ago. The north-south declarations comprehensively specify the principles and ways for developing the north-south relations and achieving peaceful reunification and prosperity common to the nation. There are no unilateral principle and international standard other than the standard, principle and norms jointly agreed upon by the north and the south. Furthermore, the concept of "normal state-to-state relations" is absolutely unimaginable. The theory of the "normal state-to-state relations consistent with international standard" touted by the puppet regime is just a replica of the criminal theory of "two Koreas" claimed by the "yusin" dictator. The south Korean authorities' "theory of adhering to principle" is a dangerous theory of confrontation between fellow countrymen aimed to destroy peace, escalate tension and ignite a war on the Korean Peninsula. The puppet regime set "hard-line" and "pressure" as another "principle concerning the north" while crying out for "firm security posture", "solid south Korea-U.S. alliance" and "strong deterrence against the north" in its moves to provoke a new war. "Security" and "deterrence against the north" clamored by the puppet warmongers are just pronoun of military confrontation and war moves, a camouflage to cover up their aggression nature. It is absolutely illogical for them to spell out such rhetoric as "nuclear threat" and "provocation" by the north as they only seek to find pretexts to launch invasion of the north. The regime connives at and defends the U.S. nuclear weapons and war moves. Yet, it speaks ill of the just nuclear deterrence possessed by the fellow countrymen in the north. This is just like a guilty party filing the suit first. The present regime only plunged the north-south ties into a deadlock and increased the danger of a war through war moves against the DPRK, anti-DPRK smear campaign and crackdown on the reunification movement forces after taking power. All facts prove that the "theory of adhering to principle" touted by the puppet regime is the traitorous theory of sycophancy toward the U.S., theory of confrontation with fellow countrymen and theory of war against the north. It goes without saying that the north-south relations can never develop as long as the puppet regime keeps the "theory of adhering to principle". The three principles of national reunification and the idea of "By our nation itself" are the only principle to be held fast by the north and the south and there can never be any other principle away from the three principles and the idea. |
