Otete Gaston Mboyo, deputy general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the DR Congo and chairman of the DR Congo-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to release a bulletin and organize colorful political and cultural events including remembrance meeting and film show on the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of the demise of Kim Jong Il.
