There are many mothers in the world but there are no such upright, pure, faithful and devoted mothers as the Korean mothers, Rodong Sinmun says, and goes on:

Thanks to such mothers the revolutionary ranks of the DPRK stand unfazed by any storm and stress and beautiful traits are prevalent in its socialist society. It is the great pride of the Korean revolution that the Songun revolutionary fighters who have grown under the warm care of the admirable mothers are playing the role of fortress and shield defending the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the leader.

The country and revolution are making a dynamic advance toward a new victory in the drive for building a thriving nation, demonstrating their invincible might. This is ascribable to the devotion of the mothers who are leading their children along the road of revolution and patriotism, linking their lives with the destiny of the country and revolution and devoting themselves to the great cause of the country and the nation.

The WPK made sure that the Mother's Day is significantly marked amid the blessings of the whole country, valuing and projecting the mothers. This marks a historic event making it possible to significantly exalt the dignity and position of the mothers and bring about a turn in playing their role.

The care of the WPK represents that of the great mother who ensures the happiness of the generations to come, being responsible for the destiny of all mothers and children and all other people, the benevolent care which all mothers of this land call that of the mother and follow her.
