"Selected Works of Kim Jong Il" (Enlarged Edition) Vol. 22 off Press
Pyongyang, November 16 (KCNA) -- Vol. 22 of "Selected Works of Kim Jong Il" (enlarged edition) was brought out in the DPRK.

Contained in the book are 46 works published by Kim Jong Il from August, Juche 92 (2003) to November, Juche 95 (2006).

In the works he advanced the important guidelines in invariably inheriting the tradition of "the Down-with-Imperialism Union" (DIU) and in firmly adhering to and applying the revolutionary principle and the class principle.

Clarified in the works is the idea that to firmly defend the socialist country of Juche is the most important revolutionary task faced by the People's Army.

The works deal with theoretical and practical issues arising in effecting a revolutionary turn in the socialist economic construction and in improving the people's living standard.

Also expounded in the works are the ways of implementing the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on bringing about a drastic turn in agriculture including the issues of directing big efforts to farming to increase the grain production, developing the stock-breeding in a big way and giving a face-lifting to the rural villages.

The works indicate tasks to thoroughly implement the WPK's line on attaching importance to science and technology including the issues of making a great leap forward in the development of science and technology, enhancing the role of scientists and technicians and raising the knowledge level of officials and other people.

In the works he called upon officials to arm themselves with the idea of believing in the people as in Heaven and live and struggle like leading officials in the days when the foundations for carrying forward the Juche cause were laid and thus serve the people and contribute to pushing ahead with the general advance of the Songun revolution.

Also contained in the book are works which give answers to the theoretical and practical issues arising in building a thriving nation including the issues of bringing about a new turn in the construction of the capital, enhancing the role of writers and journalists and encouraging and developing national food.
