Mothers' Day Marked in DPRK
Pyongyang, November 16 (KCNA) -- The Mothers' Day has been significantly marked in the DPRK.

Mothers across the country visited the statues of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and their statues and large portraits in other various places.

They visited the bust of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and her statues in Kim Jong Suk County and Hoeryong City and looked back upon the exploits performed by her for the country, revolution and humankind.

The drama "Female Comrade of Mt. Paektu" was given by the National Theatrical Troupe at the National Theatre here.

The performance truthfully showed the transparent spirit of devotedly defending the leader and the revolutionary comradeship displayed by Kim Jong Suk in the days of the anti-Japanese war.

The Samjiyon Band of the Mansudae Art Troupe and the National Symphony Orchestra separately gave a music and dance performance and a concert at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre and the Moranbong Theatre.

Pyongyangites watched with joys and interest performances and films at the Pyongyang Circus Theater, Taedongmun Cinema, Songyo Cinema and other places.

Meetings with women of distinguished services and sports and amusements games were held in every district of Pyongyang.

Performances given by provincial art troupes and art squads and schoolchildren and kindergartens were conspicuously held in every province, city and county.

Members of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea held amusement games at Hamhung Stadium.

There took place art performances and meetings at theatres, cinemas and halls of Kaesong and Munchon cities, Pakchon County and other cities and counties and songs and laughing were heard at parks and recreation grounds.

Mothers received letters of greetings from their sons and daughters serving in the army and working at socialist construction sites on the Mothers' Day.

The public catering establishments including Okryu, Chongnyu, Chilsong and Sinhung restaurants and Kanggye Noodle House pleased mothers with good service.
