Rodong Sinmun Calls for Learning from Noble Revolutionary Spirit of Seamen
Pyongyang, November 18 (KCNA) -- The heroic feats and spiritual world of seamen of the Korean People's Army who died heroic deaths while performing their combat duty are the example to be followed by all service personnel and people of the DPRK in their lives and struggle, says Rodong Sinmun Monday in an editorial.

It goes on:

The brave fighters of the East Sea were precious revolutionary soldiers trained under the care of the Workers' Party of Korea and genuine soldiers of the Songun era equipped with the revolutionary soldier spirit.

The voyage made by the seamen was that of devotedly defending the leader and that of loyalty as they had always remained true to the party and the leader.

Equipped with the transparent spirit of defending the leader, they reliably defended the sea-post of the country to the last moments of their lives, fully aware that they were standing guard over the first-line trench for devotedly defending the leader though they were far away from Pyongyang.

The above-said fallen fighters were phoenixes of the sea who showed in practice how to defend the post assigned to them by the party and perform their tasks though they were different from each other in their hometowns, duties, years of service and ages.

The noble revolutionary spirit displayed by them was a manifestation of the revolutionary soldier spirit which could be created only by the KPA having the great brilliant commander of Songun as its supreme commander.

Though they are no longer with us, they are standing in the van of the Songun revolutionary ranks together with tens of thousands of revolutionary forerunners.

All service personnel and people should earnestly learn from their feats and revolutionary spirit and thus make their noble lives shine forever along with the history of comradeship of the Korean revolution and the prosperous Paektusan nation.
