The law, consisting of 44 articles in four chapters, deals with the basic principles and such matters as creation and cultivation of mulberry fields, production and procurement of cocoons and guidance and control over sericulture.

It is stipulated in the law that the state shall develop exchange and cooperation with other countries and international bodies in the field of sericulture.
