Jesus Antonio Carlos Hernandez, general secretary of the Central Committee of the People's Socialist Party of Mexico, was elected chairman of the national committee.

The committee decided to organize colorful political and cultural events including a remembrance meeting, seminar and lecture on the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of the demise of Kim Jong Il.
