Koreans from the north and the south and abroad made speeches on the themes of the historical study of Korea's division and armistice and the principle and prospect for their solution.

Speakers said that Korea was divided into two parts because the U.S. occupied the half of the Korean Peninsula at will, faked up the "separate government" and resorted to the vicious moves to make "two Koreas" in the subsequent period.

The U.S. has violated the Armistice Agreement, stepped up arms buildup and staged war maneuvers for aggression and, therefore, the danger of a war has increased on the Korean Peninsula, they said. They analyzed the ceaselessly deteriorating inter-Korean relations.

In order to remove the political and military confrontation, contradiction and nuclear stand-off on the peninsula, it is necessary to replace the Armistice Agreement with a peace treaty, they said.

Foreigners also spoke at the meeting.

In order to achieve peace on the peninsula it is imperative to lay bare the sinister ploy of the U.S. and the south Korean authorities, have the U.S. forces withdrawn from south Korea and arouse the world people to turn out in the anti-U.S. struggle, they said.

They expressed full support to the DPRK in its positive struggle for national reunification and peace on the peninsula under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung, General Secretary Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.

They stressed that the peaceful reunification of Korea should be achieved without fail according to the reunification proposal advanced by Kim Il Sung.

The participants in the meeting watched Korean film "Provoker of Korean War".

During the meeting the foreign participants inaugurated the international committee for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

The participants held a press conference as regards the meeting.
