Pyongyang, November 21 (KCNA) -- Different kinds of nutrient drinks for promoting the recovery of sportspersons from fatigue are drawing attention from visitors at the on-going national exhibition of sci-tech achievements in sports at the Ice Rink here. Among them are Jonghyang nutritive powder and fermented drinks processed with more than 10 kinds of compound lactobacilli, which are helpful to improving digestive organs and promoting recovery from fatigue. Also on display at the exhibition is a tonic containing varieties of organic acids, monosaccharides and microelements. The tonic is effective for the recovery from fatigue and the treatment of liver and inflammatory diseases. It, a gold prize winner at the China International Expo held in September 2008, is made of extracts from natural herbs with strong antioxidants and its DPPH (diphenyl picrylhydrazine) 5.5 times higher than that of dried extract from ginkgo leaf. An instant tea is one of those exhibits catching visitors' eyes. Included in the tea are electrolytes such as invert sugar, citric acid and salt. The tea produced through secondary and tertiary processing for easy absorption enables sportspersons to appease thirst and recover from fatigue within a few minutes. In this regard, Kim Myong Su, a department director of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, told KCNA: Displayed at this exhibition are some kinds of homemade drinks which match with those of other countries known to be good for sportspersons. In recent years DPRK sportspersons have made good records at international and domestic games, including marathon, football, judo and wrestling. They have taken those drinks. Other kinds of drinks rich in natural vitamins and minerals are also gaining popularity among sportspersons. |
