Pomminryon has always stood in the van of the struggle to force outside forces out of south Korea and achieve the independent reunification by the concerted efforts of Koreans under the banner of national independence and the great national unity, the statement said, and went on:

The inter-Korean relations have a gloomy prospect owing to Lee Myung Bak and Park Guen Hye's denial of the north-south joint declaration and their anti-reunification and treacherous acts.

The Park regime is busy staging war drills against compatriots while depending on the war alliance with the U.S. and Japan, pushing the inter-Korean relations to the worst phase. Its moves are aimed at exterminating the nation and keeping it divided for an indefinite period.

The Park regime is mercilessly suppressing Pomminryon and other organizations and pro-reunification patriotic figures for their actions for national reconciliation, unity and reunification in support of the north-south joint declaration after labeling them as "forces following the north and benefiting enemies". It is intensifying the fascist crackdown to dissolve and stamp out the pro-reunification patriotic forces and progressive democratic forces.

Although the South Headquarters of Pomminryon is undergoing difficulties and trials, it will overcome them with optimism and courage and carry on the struggle to thoroughly preserve and implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration to the last.

The South Headquarters of Pomminryon will surely protect the banner of the movement for solidarity among compatriots in the south, the north and abroad and great national unity which it has firmly preserved during the last 23 years.

It will wage a more dynamic nation-wide struggle for solidarity and alliance to achieve the national reconciliation and unity under the banner of "By our nation itself".
