DPRK's Building of Highly Civilized Nation Introduced by Uruguayan Paper
Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) -- The Uruguayan newspaper La Juventud carried an article titled "Highly civilized socialist nation" on November 14.

The paper said:

A dynamic drive is now under way in the DPRK to attain the goal of building a highly civilized socialist nation.

The universal compulsory 12-year education is in force and the universal free health care is also developing at a higher level.

The Breast Tumour Institute of the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital, the Okryu Children's Hospital and other modern health care institutions have appeared to further round off the specialized medical service. A lot of sanitaria are being renovated across the country.

A hot wind of sports sweeping the country is resulting in spectacular successes in international games.

There appeared Changjon Street in the heart of Pyongyang. Lots of modern dwelling houses are springing up in other cities and rural areas. The People's Theater, the Rungna People's Pleasure Park, Ryugyong Health Complex and other facilities for cultural and emotional life of people have been built to meet the daily growing demands of people.

The whole country has turned into a thick woodland and greenery, converting its urban and rural areas into a socialist fairyland.

In a word, the DPRK has a good prospect for enabling its people to enjoy a highly civilized life.

The paper carried photos showing extramural activities of schoolchildren in the DPRK.
