It was cosponsored by the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Korean Teachers in Japan, the Japan Teachers Union and the Japan-Korea Society for Scientific and Educational Interchange. Attending it were officials of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and those concerned of Korean schools and those concerned of educational institutions in Japan.

The chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Korean Teachers in Japan, the director of the International Affairs Department of the Japan Teachers Union and the chairman of the Japan-Korea Society for Scientific and Educational Interchange made speeches at the seminar.

It is important to lift voices against suppression and discrimination against national education in Osaka where national discrimination is getting serious, they said.

They urged the Japanese government to immediately apply the tuition-free program for senior high schools to Korean schools and pay subsidies to them.

It called for carrying on the court struggle and signature campaign across Japan, demanding the Japanese government and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan immediately apply the tuition-free program for senior high schools to Korean schools.
