The formation of Pomminryon made it possible for the Korean nation to have an organization for solidarity among compatriots in the north and the south and abroad to achieve the great unity of the nation which provides a sure guarantee for national reunification and for the movement for national reunification to briskly develop on a nationwide scale, the statement said.

Pomminryon set the idea of "By our nation itself" as an idea of all Koreans and has carried on the activities to lead all of them in the north and the south and abroad to work hard for achieving independent reunification under the banner of attaching importance to the nation, defending peace and achieving unity, it noted.

The prevailing grave situation once again reminds all Koreans of the lesson of history that the great national unity can be achieved only through a valiant struggle against the group of traitors in league with foreign forces, it said.
