Victor Petrov, chairman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to organize colorful political and cultural events and information activities to introduce the personality of Kim Jong Il as a great man and his immortal exploits on the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of his demise.
