Abrogation of Status of Forces Agreement Called for in S. Korea
Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- More than 30 civic and public organizations of south Korea including the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification had a press interview before the U.S. embassy in Seoul on November 18 accusing the U.S. of its impudent act.

The organizations disclosed that the U.S. illegally accumulated at least one trillion won out of the expenses for the upkeep of the U.S. forces which it collected from the south Korean people.

They revealed the fact that the U.S. always forced the south Korean authorities to raise the expenses for its troops to accumulate more funds and used to allocate them for building military objects.

They criticized the U.S. for earning the interests worth hundreds of billions won by lending out those funds.

The south Korean "government" should take back all those funds as they were not legally grounded, they added.

They held that the U.S. calls for more than one trillion won expenses for the upkeep of the U.S. forces for 2014 as they slight the south Korean people.

Noting that most of the south Korean people are calling for freezing the expenses for the upkeep of the U.S. forces, they stressed that the "government" should abrogate the unequal south Korea-U.S. "Status of Forces Agreement".
